In autumn 1996, the old system of card catalogues was suspended. All media acquired after November 1996 have since been listed in the OPAC exclusively.
Within a retro-conversion project the entire author/title catalogue and the complete analytical catalogue had been integrated in the kubikat – Art Libraries Network KHI Florence – ZI Munich – DFK Paris – Bibliotheca Hertziana Rome.
Subject catalogue
The subject catalogue indexes the works evidenced in both the author/title catalogue and in the analytical catalogue by a special classification according to manifold art historical aspects. It offers approximately 900,000 cataloguing records for research. This catalogue does not indicate the location of the item, but serves as a reference catalogue to the alphabetical main catalogue.
Reference period: Works acquired before autumn 1996 and edited after 1950. In November 1996, the subject indexing got started via OPAC, covering all acquisitions.
To help you find your way please have a look into our commentarial folders. In addition, you may consult an alphabetic index register which will direct you from the terms and subjects to the functional group numbers of the corresponding drawers of the subject catalogue.
The academic staff of the library (Room No. 118-119 and 123-126) will be pleased to assist you in your research in the catalogue.
